We spent the weekend at Hollywood Casino while visiting Bangor for my sons hockey games. Casino staff was uber-friendly - a custodian even stopped us on the way in to tell us 'to make sure we had fun!' Very friendly, exactly what you'd expect from Maine. There's a zip-around mattress protector, no sign of bugs. ) Was surprised that there wasn't an extra pillow/blanket in the closet, but the bed itself was comfortable enough. They actually use pure white bedding! That's how comfortable they are with their standard of cleanliness. The room was exceptionally well-kept I'd be surprised if it wasn't a newer renovation, as nothing appeared to have that hotel-mileage sort of shab. The room itself lacked a view and whatever was across the lot was rather bright all night, but it was quiet - no outside noise or hallway noise. Front desk staff was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed (delivery numbers, info on the on-site restaurant, a few bottles of water). $109 for a king room, drop in without a reservation around 10pm on a Sunday before the holidays.
